Hex Composer is a video synthesizer you play. This manual documents the app as it exists now.

Choose a task
Section titled “Choose a task”- Make visuals react to audio: choose an audio source and assign its level or frequency bands to a parameter.
- Control a parameter with MIDI: connect a controller and learn an assignment.
- Create feedback trails: start with a recipe for repeats, afterimages, or painted trails.
- Record or send live output: save a clip or send the output to another application.
- Troubleshoot a problem: check recording, controller input, and external output by symptom.
